The definitive Deponia compilation will see a limited physical release on Switch, available in 2 flavours!
Indie publisher Super Rare Games (also, creator of the Super Rare Mixtape) have partnered with Daedallic Entertainment to physically release all the Deponia games on a single Nintendo Switch™ cartridge via the Deponia Collection!
Inspired by the absurdist and satirical storytelling of Terry Pratchett (Discworld, Good Omens), Douglas Adams (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) and Matt Groening (The Simpsons, Futurama), the Deponia series is a point and click adventure in which you play as the crafty and sarcastic Rufus as he pursues his dream of leaving the eponymous junk planet. He finds an opportunity one day when he encounters an inhabitant of the veritable paradise Elysium (subtly named “Goal”) and makes it his mission to get her there. Wacky hijinks and puzzles ensue.
Deponia Collection includes Deponia, Chaos on Deponia, Goobye Deponia and Deponia Doomsday. The whole series adds up to over 50 hours of gameplay, over 150 characters and too many sci-fi tropes to count.
Deponia Collection comes with all the trimmings you might expect from a Super Rare Games release: a fully assembled cartridge, beautiful interior art, full-colour manual, exclusive sticker and three nifty trading cards.
But that’s just the Standard Edition!
Deponia Collection: The Collector’s Edition houses a 208-page hard cover artbook, a soundtrack CD, a full set of trading cards (including a guaranteed holographic), in addition to the standard case, Super Rare logo, and the cart with all four games on it. This all comes inside a lavish collector’s box. There will only be 1,000 copies, and chances are that due to a heinous market manipulator one of them will be sold for a million USD at some point in the future, so you might as well get a slice of the pie before everyone else can catch a whiff of its alluring sci-fi scent.
The Deponia Collection will be available from 6pm BST on the 16 September. There will be 4,000 copies available in total, (3,000 for the standard, 1,000 for the collectors). You can see the video here, purchase the game here, and follow Super Rare Games here!
