Ninja Storm
Ninja Storm’s opening is full of youthful energy which fits its tone and cast well, but I’d be lying if I said it was one of my favorites. As I already said before, this list is just down to pure personal preference so whilst I don’t particularly enjoy the song, I think it’s suitable for the lighthearted ninja adventure. It just doesn’t get me pumped as much as the others, but it’s still pretty good.
Favourite line: ‘With the speed of the wind, and strength like thunder!’
Lightspeed Rescue
Alright, now we’re getting to the songs I actually find enjoyable. Lightspeed Rescue’s theme captures the show’s exciting, high-stakes action with a catchy motif that is sprinkled throughout fight scenes. If only the ending part of it wasn’t so repetitive, it would be higher up on the list. Seriously, I got a bit sick of hearing ‘POWER RANGERS LIGHTSPEED RESCUE!’ for what felt like the 8th time.
Favourite line: ‘The danger will test you, better make it Lightspeed Rescue!’
Dino Charge
After how sick I was of hearing another tired rendition of ‘Go Go Power Rangers,’ I was expecting the absolute worst from Dino Charge. Imagine my surprise when the song came on and managed to be both original and exciting. Was it due to the songs before it being forgettable that made this one seem fantastic in comparison? Possibly, but Dino Charge is still a swell time all around. It’s got a good mix of rock and wholesomeness, which is probably a weird way to say it sounded right in my head.
Favourite line: ‘Hold tight, keep the power alive!’
Turbo
Regardless of Turbo’s quality as a show, the theme song is undeniably awesome. It’s a song that I used to listen to whilst riding my bike down the street, feeling as if I was boosting ahead with Zord-fueled speed. The lyrics—whilst pretty narrowly focused—are catchy and memorable. It’s a song all about being cool while riding a car, what’s not to love?
Favourite line: The bit where the guy goes wooooaoooahoooohhh!
