Kingdom Hearts 4 New Gameplay Trailer!

Today marked the 20th anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts franchise which was celebrated with an event in Japan featuring new trailers for games, artwork, and merchandise that we can expect to see this year. But what clearly overshadowed anything else shown was the first trailer and reveal of Kingdom Hearts IV.

Featuring a drastically different appearance from his last few adventures, Sora awakens in the world he was seen entering during the final moments of Kingdom Hearts 3, speaking with a young girl who seems to understand his predicament. We are then shown a giant Heartless terrorising the city and Sora using a grappling hook from his keyblade to swing across streetlamps and onto bridges to launch himself towards the foreboding threat. The gameplay looks incredibly flashy and clean—a clear progression from the fluid action we are accustomed to from its predecessor.

Sora’s drill is the drill that will pierce the heavens!

Notably, the Organisation is back to their dastardly deeds again but with Sora’s apparent arsenal of new tools from the keyblade the combat should maintain that fast-paced and incredibly varied feel that made the last game so much fun to speed through. Donald and Goofy are also in the trailer, but away from Sora in a dark world devoid of life before they are approached by someone mysterious. It’s unclear how Disney worlds will factor into this game but when they inevitably do show up then some more Pixar worlds would definitely be appreciated from this fan!

Sora looks like he just fell out of Final Fantasy XV!

It’s currently unknown when this game will be playable in any capacity or which platforms it will hit, but with how the early footage looks it certainly seems worth the wait! What element of the trailer did you like best? What do you think of Sora’s new appearance? Let us know!
