Jakks Pacific Most Wanted: Essential Sonic the Hedgehog Figures

Sonic Jakks Wishlist Thumbnail

Sonic figure collecting has never been so accessible, with Jakks Pacific consistently releasing waves of characters, both popular and niche. European availability of particular characters aside, they have been doing a great job at releasing fan favourite characters. From Neo Metal Sonic to Mephiles, there has been something for all fans in recent years. And since they have been renewed as the official Sonic toy provider through to 2029, there’s certainly more to come too! So here’s my wishlist of characters I’d love to see released from this line over the next few years.

Trip (Maskless)

Official render of Trip

While we have had a great Trip figure release in 2025, this was the disguised mask variant she’s seen in for the first half of Sonic Superstars. What would be great is to have a figure of her without the mask, so we can see her face. That way, we have her sitting nicely on our shelves with all her classic friends, rather than the masked form chilling with Fang. This would be an easy one to manufacture, too, as they already have her body moulds. Just craft a new head and boom, easy manufacturing and happy Trip fans!

Whisper the Wolf

Official render of Whisper

We’ve had a Tangle figure (European stock issues aside), so it’s only logical that Whisper comes next. While these characters were locked away in IDW comic obscurity, they’re now in several mobile games and even secured a spot on the CrossWorlds roster. With lots of new eyes on them, it makes absolute sense to capitalise and release a figure for those familiar with and new to the character to enjoy. Plus, you can’t have Tangle without Whisper.

Hero Chao

Official render of the Hero Chao

You know, it’s frankly criminal that we’ve somehow gone this long without Hero Chao. We’ve had neutral and Dark for years now, but there hasn’t been even a peep of Hero. Just for collection’s sake, this is an obvious choice. Plus, it’s not exactly complex to manufacture. Two white blobs with a hint of blue, and you’re done. What’s stopping you exactly, Jakks? Plus, it would make fellow writer Melltith very happy.

Wave and Storm

Official render of Wave and Storm

These characters have more or less identical reasoning to get made, so I bundled them together. I fully get that Jet is the leader, the breakout character and is much more popular. Hell, he’s my favourite Sonic character ,so I get why he receives preferential treatment when it comes to merchandising. But, they are The Babylon Rogues, a collective and family. Having Jet is cool and all, but without Wave and Storm to back him up, then it feels a little shallow. These are honestly my biggest wants. I could go without the rest of this list if we just got these guys, pretty please, Jakks!

Sage

Official render of Sage

Eggman’s virtual daughter stole the hearts of many with her role in Sonic Frontiers. But, three years on, it has me wondering, why have we not had a figure of her yet? We’ve had a tiny diecast figure of her, sure, but not a Jakks figure we can sit with her dad (and her brother, Metal Sonic). My Egg family feels incomplete, and there’s and Sage would help fill the void in my plastic Eggman’s heart.

Egg Pawn

Official render of Egg Pawn

Long before he was a meme in CrossWorlds, Egg pawns were scattered far and wide across the many levels of Sonic Heroes. While I had many a fun time destroying them en masse, there’s something about their intrusively orange design that appeals to the mind. Whether that be their egg shape, goofy expressions, or the complete lack of individuality across the mass-produced hordes, they tempt me. So why not mass-produce tiny plastic versions? It would be on brand, and I’d buy like 10.

Marine

Official render of Marine

We were incredibly fortunate to get a Blaze figure made in the current Sonic landscape. Outside of spin-offs, she hasn’t really been relevant for quite a while; the same can be said of Marine. Having one game appearance, outside of references, she’s the definition of an irrelevant character. But, I think that Blaze needs her cross-dimensional friend (“From Blaze’s perspective, isn’t everyone else her cross-dimensional friend?” – Editor), and Rush Adventure needs a little more appreciation.

Johnny

Official render of Johnny

Speaking of Rush Adventure appreciation, Johnny is a character who is as obscure as he is cool. What’s cooler than a robotic pirate shark? Not much! Being an antagonist to Blaze, the fact that he’s only shown up in one game is understandable, but equally disappointing. If cross-dimensional shenanigans can allow Blaze to visit her friends, why not drag Johnny in for some extra shenanigans? Having a figure can allow us the Omega and Johnny fan fiction we deserve.

Bean the Dynamite

Official render of Bean

Now I may be biased towards green anthropomorphic birds, but I swear this is not relevant. Bean is one of those mostly forgotten ’90s characters that doesn’t see a lot of love in the modern age. Sure, he shows up in the comics from time to time, but it would be great to see him on my shelf. Plus, more Sonic the Fighters representation can’t be a bad thing, right?

E-102 Gamma

Official render of E-102 Gamma

Ah, Gamma, a tragic tale. I initially was going to lead this section down the direction of him being the only playable Adventure character who hasn’t had the figure treatment. But, I’m realising that for a franchise filled with robots, we only have a handful of figures of said robots. What’s up with that? Sure, we have a few Badniks, but as for the modern cast, we are severely lacking. Give us more robots Jakks!

Tikal

Official render of Tikal

I feel like Tikal is on every collector’s wishlist. She’s integral to the Adventure plot, she has a unique design, and it’s another Echidna. If Jakks decide to make Gamma, then it’s only natural that the expectation of Tikal comes knocking. Especially since we have Chaos already, plus having a full Adventure character set would be so satisfying.

Black Doom

Official render of Black Doom

I was looking at my shelf and thinking, what villains are left to become a figure? And I came to two solid answers, Metal Overlord (yeah, like that’s going to happen) and Black Doom. We had Doom’s Eye in an older Jazwares set, but it’s not quite the same as his menacing presence. Now that he’s relevant again, thanks to ShadowGenerations, why not introduce a figure? Even if it’s not perfectly to scale.

Orbot and Cubot

Official render of Cubot and Orbot

The last time this duo received figures was back in Sonic Boom, not that their designs changed at all. Unless you’re in North America or snagged them back in the day, these two are very expensive to get now. It wouldn’t take much to release them as part of the 2-inch range, so they are to scale with the other characters, plus having more Badniks is never a bad thing!

Burning Blaze

Official render of Burning Blaze

Trip aside, having all the Super forms sat together on my shelf but having a massive gap in the shape of Blaze is haunting. Don’t misunderstand me, I am super grateful we even got Super Silver, who frankly hasn’t been relevant for 20 years. But c’mon, Burning Blaze is a DS icon, and she wouldn’t even take that much work to produce! If you’re going to tease us with super forms, at least let us finish the collection off with one of the only female forms in the franchise!

Dark Rider

With the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 line of figures, we were blessed with a Shadow figure riding a motorcycle from the thrilling Tokyo scene. To top that off, we’re also getting a Batman Shadow figure riding a Batbike in 2026, really awesome. But, this raises the question, will we get a Dark Rider figurine? These bikes are cool and all, but pale in comparison to the iconic original. It would also complete a sick collection of bikes, so what’s the harm in asking?

Omochao

Official render of omochao

To be perfectly honest, I despise Omochao. His annoying voice, useless advice, and general presence irritate me. The fact that he managed to worm his way into a playable role in Team Sonic Racing was impressive, but it’s not enough. If they made a figure of him to match the other Chao, that would be nice, but it would be equally nice to have a victim to punish. Jokes aside, he’d make a great addition to the Chao collection.

Agent Stone

the 2inch Jakks Pacific figure of Agent Stone

Although technically speaking, Agent Stone does have a 2-inch figure, this is quite laughable. How am I supposed to create wonderful scenes of Dr Robotnik and Agent Stone together when one is 5 inches tall, and the other is 2 inches? It will get weird, very quickly. I know what you’re thinking, just match him with the 2-inch Robotnik, but to that I say “nay”. I want articulation, I want manoeuvrability, and Agent Stone deserves better, damn it!

Honourable Mention: Knight Variants

Jazwares have made amazing figures of three of the knights from Sonic and the Black Knight. I covet them deeply. However, those figures haven’t been seen in the UK for well over a decade and are very rare finds in the USA. It’s not likely that more of these will be produced, and there are so many more knights that could be made. While it’s unlikely, I think releasing a new series of 5-inch figures (akin to the movie articulation) with all of the knight characters would be amazing. It would give collectors an opportunity to get some of these characters, and the improved posing would allow us to create insane scenes with them.

Thanks for reading my list! Who is your most wanted character, and do you think any of the characters I requested have a shot at getting made? Let me know what you think!
