Meet the Author: Melltith

Hello~ My name is Melltith, Melty for short. I write for Underlevelled, and I sometimes edit the articles. Some of the other members might say that I kind of infiltrated, as the site was a love-child between my partner and his friends, but I thought it looked fun. 😀

I tend to write about media that I’m nostalgic for. Whether that’s movies, TV shows, video games, or even music, it’s anyone’s guess at this point! I also like to dabble in subjects that come completely out of the blue, so keep your eye out for those special articles!

What are your hobbies and interests outside of digital media?

I love to create. Whether it’s crocheting, painting, or sometimes even pottery, if there’s a craft I’ve discovered, I’ve probably tried it.

I’m also a mother, so a lot of my interests lie in what makes for a good upbringing or an asset to help children grow within themselves.

I’m a huge fan of music and musical theatre. You’ll often find me dragging Kane along to theatre shows with me; however, I think he secretly likes it.

What are your favourite gaming genres?

I love a good farming simulator. I’m a cosy connoisseur. I gravitate towards minigame compilations, slower-paced games, and games where the stakes aren’t too high.

However, I don’t like to play multiplayer games too much, as the competition or feeling of letting the other player down is too intense for me. Saying this, I do enjoy playing Minecraft with the Underlevelled crew and some of the members in our Discord.

I also enjoy a good fighting game. I usually go back to Tekken 3 or Tekken Tag Tournament 2, but there are a few I’d play, given the chance.

What are your favourite games?

I adore playing Minecraft. Though I may take a break from it for a little while, I know I’ll always come back. The game is just too comfy.

Sonic Adventure 2 is way up there in my favourites. This is purely down to the Chao Garden, though the Knuckles levels are pretty chill.

I more or less spent the best part of five years convincing Riley to play Pikmin, and for a good reason. This franchise is probably my favourite to ever exist.

What are your favourite movies?

In a stark contrast to my favourite games, my favourite movies tend to be on the more mature side. My absolute favourite is a tie between Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I’m also known to rewatch the Saw, Final Destination, and Hostel movies quite often. However, if you put something supernatural in front of me, I won’t hesitate to hide from the ghosties.

What are your favourite music genres and artists?

I was pretty much raised on music. I’m a fan of multiple genres, including but not limited to 70s rock, 90s rap, and 2000s pop punk. As mentioned previously, I’m also a huge fan of musical theatre.

My favourite musicals are The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Heathers, and Grease. EPIC: The Musical has infiltrated my brain for the past few years, though, and you must all listen to it. Thank you, Jorge.

My favourite musicians are Green Day (I always come back to them), Pink Floyd (Thanks, dad), and Biffy Clyro.
