Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase – August 2020

From seemingly out of nowhere Nintendo have dropped another Partner Showcase Direct onto their YouTube Channel, this time however, there is a strong emphasis on Rhythm Games. Here are some of our highlights from the games showcased!

Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory

Release date and more revealed!

Square’s previously announced title Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory has had more modes showcased including a Nintendo Switch exclusive Free for All Mode which allows players to connect up to eight Nintendo Switch systems to play together. It will release November 13th for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PS4.

Taiko No Tatsujin – Rhythmic Adventure Pack

Two 3DS classics remastered in one package!

The two RPG titles from BANDAI NAMCO are being remastered in HD on the Switch in one pack featuring all songs and elements from both games and compatibility with the Taiko Drum controller for Nintendo Switch. These JRPGs feature a unique blend of rhythm game styled combat allowing players to defeat enemies to the rhythm. Taiko No Tatujin – Rhythmic Adventure pack releases for Nintendo Switch in Winter 2020.

Three Classic JRPGs get their port on Nintendo Switch

For the first time in the West, Square’s classic handheld JRPG Trilogy The Final Fantasy Legend are being released on the Switch. These games are direct ports of the GameBoy Classics released in the 1990’s but include a few quality of life improvements such as speeding the game up and save states. This trilogy will release on the Nintendo Switch on December 15th!

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 – The Ultimate Puzzle Match

A sequel to the beloved 2017 title is finally coming!

Following the success of SEGA’s first instalment in 2017, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is a direct sequel adding more elements to keep the game interesting. Such as a new adventure mode, 4 player online VS and new effects, it appears that the sequel is pushing to be the definitive way to play. Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 will release on December 8th for Nintendo Switch and PS4
